  1. Set the oven to 400 F.
  2. Mix all but 1 cup of the flour with the sugar, salt and baking soda in the large bowl.
  3. Warm the water and milk in the microwave until lukewarm, about 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on your microwave. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5 minutes to proof.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry, add reserved flour as needed. This should be a thick but pour-able batter.
  5. Grease and cornmeal the 2 pans, divide batter evenly, cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for 30 min.
  6. Bake at 400 for 25 min.
